A concert will be held September 1st at Macedonia Square in Skopje on the occasion of the country’s 35th anniversary of independence, featuring one of the greatest opera singers of all time, Spanish tenor José Carreras, said Boban Milosheski from Avalon Production at a press conference Wednesday.
A concert including one of the world’s greatest opera singers, José Carreras, and a Macedonian all-star lineup – Karolina Gocheva, Vlatko Stefanovski, Kaliopi, Naum Petreski, Suzana Spasovska, Igor and Ana Durlovski – will take place at Skopje’s main square on September 1, ahead of the country’s 35th independence anniversary.
The concert will be divided into two musical segments. In the first part, Macedonian music stars will perform together with over 60 musicians from the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Sasho Tatarchevski, with special orchestrations and arrangements prepared by maestro Nikolche Micevski.
The second part of the evening will belong to José Carreras, who will perform with his world repertoire together with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, led by his long-time conductor David Jimenez.
The organizers also announce special musical pairings between Macedonian performers and the world tenor, which will remain a surprise for the audience.
Singer Vlado Janevski and pianist Simon Trpcheski were also included in the negotiations for the event, but due to their busy schedules, they will not be able to perform.
