The minibus in which half a million euros were seized at the Tabanovce border crossing, and which left Germany with seven Albanian citizens, was supposed to arrive in Albania. But where the money was supposed to end up, that’s for the other institutions to find out, said Macedonian Customs Administration director Boban Nikolovski in an interview with TV Telma.
“The team is made up of very experienced people who have been collecting information about what is happening in the region. A vehicle like this arrives, they select it, they do a detailed check, they are even more suspicious, they call an additional dog from the K-9 unit, the dog first comes and signals that something is serious, they call a scanner, the scanner shows a higher density in the plate itself. Our operatives, using physical force, open it all the way, a thread comes out, which when you pull, the more you pull, the more piles, bundles of money come out,” said Nikolovski.
The case represents a record confiscation of cash since the establishment of the Customs Administration of Macedonia.
