Licenses for cultivating cannabis for medical purposes have been revoked from six companies due to multiple irregularities, Macedonian Health Minister Azir Aliu told a press conference held Tuesday at the government building.
The licenses of Alfafam, which was involved in cannabis smuggling in Serbia, then Green Life, CBD Medplant, Life Plant, Atapharm, Cannabinoids, were revoked due to multiple irregularities.
“The Government’s decisions are based on the findings of the controls carried out – inadequate storage of the dried flower, inconsistent notifications to the Commission, failure to submit complete documentation for sale and transfer,” Minister Aliu pointed out.
In addition to the inspections carried out so far in 13 legal entities, Aliu announced controls in all 43 legal entities that grow cannabis for medical purposes.
Due to shortcomings and potential for abuses identified in the existing legal regulations, Minister Aliu announces a new legal solution that will be adopted when the inspections in all 43 legal entities are completed.
