The White House’s release of the joint statement on reciprocal trade between the U.S. and Macedonia represents a clear signal of deepening strategic partnership and underscores the strong support Macedonia receives from the United States, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Friday.

“Following the partnership agreement with the United Kingdom and the closure of the post-monitoring dialogue with the Council of Europe after 26 years, late last night the White House issued a Joint Statement between the U.S. and Macedonia on reciprocal trade. This statement represents a clear signal for deepening the strategic partnership and confirmation of the strong support that Macedonia enjoys from the U.S. It paves the way for a comprehensive agreement that will provide tariffs no higher than 15%, and for certain products and industries up to 0%, opening up new opportunities for exports, investments and economic growth.

With such steps, we are strengthening Macedonia’s position as a reliable and predictable partner, building an economy with a higher standard and improving our international position.
This is a policy of concrete results. Step by step, with a clear vision and stable support from our strategic allies,” noted PM Mickoski.
