Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski addressed a case at a press conference Tuesday involving a member of his security detail that was arrested after being charged with physical assault against his wife.
Responding to a reporter’s question, Mickoski stresses that the institutions are already acting and emphasized that the law applies equally to everyone, regardless of function or position.
The PM indicated that this is not an isolated case and that there will be no tolerance for any violations, including by persons who are part of his security detail.
“The system is functioning and the authorities are working on the case. This is proof that there are no untouchables,” said the PM, adding that such cases are being sanctioned now, unlike in the past when, according to him, it was not always the case.
PM Mickoski stresses that he will not allow insubordination and says that anyone who violates the law will be held accountable.
