Macedonian Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska during her visit to Prilep held a working meeting with the largest concessionaires in the region, dedicated to the current situation in the mining sector, the challenges facing companies and the opportunities for further development.
Minister Bozhinovska emphasizes that the state has a clear interest in mining developing as a strong economic sector, but only with full respect for legal obligations, environmental standards and safety rules.
“Partnership with companies is important, but even more important is the trust of citizens. Therefore, development must go hand in hand with responsibility, transparency and enhanced supervision,” Božinovska underlined.
The meeting also emphasized the need for enhanced inspection supervision in the field, and it was emphasized that the opening of the new office of the State Inspectorate in Prilep will contribute to more efficient control, equal working conditions and further strengthening of standards in the industry.
