Macedonian Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski and the United States Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires Nicole Varnes confirmed at a meeting Monday the joint commitment to further promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries.
As Perinski informed, the conversation presented the key priorities of the ministry for the coming period, with an emphasis on the functioning of the Resource Center as a mechanism for overcoming administrative challenges at the local level, encouraging inter-municipal cooperation and ensuring more balanced regional development.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on strengthening integrity systems at the local and national levels, areas in which the institutions cooperate with the National Democratic Institute through the “Communities with Integrity” project.
Perinski assessed that the partnership with the US is one of the key foreign policy priorities and emphasized that the institutions remain committed to its further strengthening.
