A twenty-five-year-old woman tried to smuggle 318 grams of marijuana and 142 grams of cocaine into the largest prison in the country, the Idrizovo Penitentiary in two egg trays. Of the 60 eggs, 28 were stuffed with bags of marijuana and cocaine.
The Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) has launched an investigation against the suspect.
She made the attempt to smuggle the narcotics in egg shells into the Idrizovo prison thon Wednesday, when she came to visit her husband, the inmate.
She took two trays in which it visually appeared that a total of 60 eggs were packed, but during a scanner check and a manual check, it was determined that 28 of them contained drug packages, i.e. a total of 318.62 grams of marijuana and 142.2 grams of cocaine, the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office informed.
Considering that the suspect is the mother of minor children, one of whom is a five-month-old baby, the public prosecutor forwarded a proposal to the pre-trial judge for the suspect’s house arrest.
