Islam Abazi protected Venko Filipche in the modular hospital fire case, VMRO-DPMNE MP Mile Lefkov told a press briefing Friday.
“Islam Abazi, the servant of Filipche, Zaev and Ahmeti, in the last months of his leadership of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption (PPO OCC) protected criminals in the country.
The case was gathering dust in the drawers of Vilma Ruskovska and Elizabeta Josifovska from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, so that now, after five years, the case was closed without an investigation. This is the corrupt and corroded judiciary and prosecution, which works under the batons of SDS and DUI.
Why do we think that Filipche is the direct culprit in this case? Because before the fire in the modular hospital where 14 of our fellow citizens died, instead of improving the standards of the hospitals, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, at the proposal of the government, changed the Law on Construction under an emergency procedure, in order to move this type of facility to urban equipment, the installation of which will be approved by the Ministry of Health, i.e. the then-Health Minister Venko Filipche.
These hospitals are not registered in the Cadastre, have not received a decision from the government for permanent use and do not have approval for use according to the regulation on space, equipment and staff.
There is evidence of these matters in the project unit at the Ministry of Health and it was handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime on December 12, 2023. And after this, Abazi says that the case should be closed because there is no suspicion of abuse of office.
Because of corrupt individuals like Abazi, instead of being held accountable, Filipche will laugh from the party podium and have a great time on Zaev’s yacht,” stressed the ruling party MP.
