Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr) is one of the greatest and most important holidays in Islam, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan – a period of fasting, prayer and spiritual purification. This holiday comes as a crown of the month-long dedication of believers, who during Ramadan abstain from food, drink and bad thoughts from sunrise to sunset.
Ramadan Bayram is a symbol of joy, gratitude and a new beginning. On this day, believers thank God for strength and patience, but also for all the blessings in life. The morning begins with a joint prayer in mosques, followed by family gatherings, visits and congratulations.
Traditionally, rich meals are prepared for Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr), food is shared with loved ones, but also with those in need. A great emphasis is placed on humanity – giving alms and helping the poor, which gives the holiday an even deeper meaning.
Ramadan Bayram is also a time of reconciliation. People forgive each other, renew relationships and strengthen ties with family and community. Values such as love, respect, solidarity and togetherness are cultivated.
Although the date of Ramadan Bayram changes every year, the message remains the same – to be a better person, to help others and to live with a pure heart and good intentions.
