Opposition SDSM has filed criminal charges against Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski for violating the Constitution and violating the laws, the party’s Secretary General Aleksandar Sasha Dimitrijevikj said Friday.
“From the position of prime minister, Mickoski is publicly announcing criminal prosecutions, targeting specific people from the opposition and their families with pre-written charges. His “I have a hunch” is dictated by fear because he knows he will have to face responsibility. But this is a scandal of unprecedented proportions and represents a complete collapse of the legal and constitutional order, and he must bear responsibility for this,” said Dimitrijevikj.
The party’s secretary general explained that SDSM has filed criminal charges against Hristijan Mickoski for the following crimes: Abuse of office and authority (Article 353, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code), violation of the equality of citizens (Article 137, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code) and endangering security (Article 143, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code).
SDSM urges the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) to summon PM Mickoski for questioning.
