Eighteen-year-old Skopje resident Pavel Trajkovski recently signed for the Belgrade football club Partizan, a new steppingstone in building his career between the goal posts.

Trajkovski has been a devoted football player since he was ten years old, and his rise began in the youth categories of FC Makedonija Gjorche Petrov where he spent the past seven years. His talent does not go unnoticed, and he plays for the Macedonian national teams at the international level in the adult categories u15, u16, u17, u18.

Although his physical predispositions, as he is 196 centimeters tall, would be more suitable for basketball or volleyball, Trajkovski tells NetPress in an exclusive interview that it is the team spirit and the uncertainty of each match that attracted him to this sport.

“I have a great love for every sport, but the love for football simply prevails in me. Football attracted me because of its uncertainty and team spirit. Even as a child, I was delighted by the atmosphere of matches, the excitement of scoring a goal and the joy that the game brings. I am fascinated by the fact that football is not just a sport, but a passion that unites people. I have been interested in football since an early age, when I started playing with my friends in the neighborhood and watching the matches on television,” said Pavel.

Contrary to the ambitions of his peers to imitate and identify with world stars who play in front of the opponent’s goal, Trajkovski is attracted to the position of the last bulwark in front of his own goal.

“Most young people are attracted to attacking positions because of the goals and fame, but it was different for me. I was drawn by the responsibility and courage that the goalkeeper position brings. I wanted to be the last line of defense and help the team in the most difficult moments. The feeling when you save a difficult shot is irreplaceable,” Trajkovski told NetPress.

The young man from the municipality of Gjorche Petrov also had interesting thoughts to share on how he decided to take on the stressful position in the team, on which the team’s ultimate success depends a lot, and how he deals with that burden.

“The position I hold carries a lot of responsibility, because every mistake can be crucial. I deal with challenges with focus, calmness and hard work. I use every training session to improve myself and gain more self-confidence. I believe that responsibility makes me stronger and more confident on the field,” says the new hope of the great of the former Yugoslav and European football.

Of course, such a mature attitude towards the sport and dedication to team success in Trajkovski did not go unnoticed by football scouts in the wider region, so quite expectedly for his achievement comes the offer to go to Belgrade, where Pavel expects to complete his skills through cooperation with more experienced teammates.

“The cooperation with Partizan Belgrade happened through my dedication and perseverance in matches in the youth league where I showed my abilities. I experience this engagement as a huge honor and a chance to develop as a player. I expect to learn a lot from the experienced players, to improve and to give my maximum for the team. I believe that with hard work and perseverance I can achieve great successes and prove my value on the field,” said the promising Trajkovski in his short interview with NetPress.

Confident in his dedication to the love of the game of football and to give his best in every match, Trajkovski is ambitious to prove himself on the international stage and worthy of representing Macedonia, and thus trophies will inevitably follow.

“My ambitions in the further course of my career are to develop as a player and to make the maximum contribution to my club. I want to be a key part of the team, to achieve results and win trophies. At the national level, my goal is to represent my country with pride, to prove myself on the international stage and to leave a strong mark in every match. I believe that with dedication, effort and perseverance I can achieve great successes and fulfill my greatest potential value,” Pavel Trajkovski told NetPress, and shared hopes that soon there would be many more interviews about his trophies and successes on the field.
