The City of Skopje has launched a major campaign for the complete arrangement and rehabilitation of the pedestrian zone along the Vardar river embankment, from Skopje’s Lisiche to Vlae.
The Vardar embankment is one of the most visited and most important places for Skopje residents, where citizens play sports, relax, spend time with their families and create friendships and memories. That is why its maintenance and arrangement is an obligation and responsibility to all citizens.
As part of the campaign, destroyed and damaged floor tiles are being replaced, uneven surfaces are being leveled and damage along the pedestrian zone is being repaired. The goal is for the embankment to once again be a safe, functional and arranged space accessible and pleasant for all generations.
The arrangement of the embankment is part of broader activities to restore life and content to this space. In the past period, new sports fields have been built and modern urban equipment is being installed, and in parallel, a large-scale campaign is being implemented to thoroughly clean the bed of the Vardar River on the territory of Skopje.
The quay is the pulse of Skopje, a place where the city lives and where thousands of citizens visit every day. Therefore, its arrangement, maintenance and development remain one of the priorities in creating a better and higher-quality public space.
The City of Skopje continues with activities to improve the quay and transform it into a modern, safe and functional space that will serve the people of Skopje and future generations.
