More than one billion (dollars) have been invested in the Kichevo-Ohrid motorway, I expect it to be completed by the first quarter of 2027 at the latest, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said in response to a reporter’s question regarding whether work is being actively done on the road connection to Kichevo.

“The other day we had a visit with the press to the construction activities that are taking place on the motorway, first Gostivar-Bukojchani, and then Kichevo-Ohrid. More than one billion (dollars) are being invested in this road section and I expect the Kichevo-Ohrid section to be completed sometime in the first quarter of 2027 at the latest, something that was forgotten. It was not only forgotten, it was destroyed. So now we are considering the possibility of finally demanding responsibility, because it was left to the ravages of time. And we are also in an advanced phase, you heard from the contractor of the road itself, practically from Gostivar to Bukojchani, that we are in an advanced phase for the realization of that section, I would say, more than the total number, I think about thirty kilometers, I think half of it has already been completed. And as for the urban segment, the complete property and legal relations are complete. So that the contractor can work and complete that part of the motorway,” said Mickoski.

During his visit to Kichevo, the PM thanked the mayor and the councilors for the support within the Council and their work together with the administration.

“After many years of stagnation, we see that the first signs of development are beginning to be noticed and in the period that follows, we as the Government will continue to support the development of the Municipality of Kichevo,” noted PM Mickoski.
