Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has held a phone call with the United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“I expressed sincere solidarity with the people of the UAE and my deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the attacks. Attacks on sovereign states and threats to the civilian population constitute a gross violation of international law and a serious threat to regional and global stability. Macedonia, as a member of NATO and a strategic partner of the United States, remains firmly committed to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity. In times of growing uncertainty, responsibility, coordination with allies and a clear determination to prevent further escalation are necessary,” Mickoski said in a press release.

The PM indicated that during the conversation he also emphasized the need for increased care and coordination for the safety of Macedonian nationals in the region.

“I informed that the state institutions are fully mobilized and are carefully monitoring the situation, with readiness for timely help, support and possible assistance if necessary. Macedonia, in the context of its strategic interests and alliances, will continue to act principled, carefully and responsibly, in the interest of stability and security,” said PM Mickoski.
