On Tuesday next week VMRO-DPMNE’s executive committee will hold a meeting, after which the names and changes of portfolios as part of the planned government reshuffle will be known, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Thursday evening.

The reshuffle, the PM says, is not being done just because of the results achieved thus far, but also because of changes in priorities.

“It is not just the results that matter, whether they were good or insufficiently good or whether there were no results at all. Sometimes a reshuffle is carried out because priorities change. Perhaps those priorities looked different two years ago, and they look different now. And it is logical that after these two years, the coalition partners have identified their own priorities and areas where they can contribute the most. I think this is what the spirit and form of this reshuffle will be. Each of the government partners have their own priorities in certain areas, and there will be changes in portfolios,” Mickoski said in an appearance on national broadcaster MRT, adding that he expects the Government to successfully finish its term.

The PM did not wish to discuss names or portfolios, noting they would be revealed after the meeting of the ruling party’s executive committee.

“After all, these are political decisions, they have to be made on a political level, and only then can we make them operational within the Government. So, first the session of the executive committee has to be held on Tuesday, and after that we will reveal the portfolios and names. But this is essentially about changes in portfolios and priorities among the coalition partners,” PM Mickoski added.
