The police arrested a thirty-eight-year-old man from Ohrid, who falsely reported traffic accidents in Shtip and Vinica, in which he made approximately MKD 3.6 million.
“Police officers from the Shtip-based Criminal Police Department, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, took operational and tactical measures on Wednesday to clear up previously committed criminal offenses of Fraud in connection with fake traffic accidents, and arrested P.S. (38) from Ohrid.
“After an official interview, P.S. explained the manner, place and time of committing nine criminal acts, six of which were in Shtip and three in Vinica, in which the complainants were damaged for approximately MKD 3,600,000. A criminal complaint was filed with the Shtip Public Prosecutor’s Office under urgent procedure, and upon the proposal of the Shtip Public Prosecutor’s Office, P.S. was brought before a judge for a preliminary procedure, where he was ordered to be detained,” the police informed. The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has been urging the elderly for a long time not to fall for telephone calls about fake traffic accidents.
