The Macedonian Government has accepted the demand of the Trade Union of Workers in Administration, Judicial Authorities and Citizens’ Associations (UPOZ) but not in full. Nevertheless, it is important they accepted the payment of wage benefits for workers in state administration and the judiciary, said UPOZ head Trpe Deanovski after a meeting with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Thursday.
“As we announced last year, the increase will be over several years, in 3 installments, 8 percent each, unfortunately, not 10. I will reiterate, unfortunately, we did not receive them last year, but here the Government has agreed to pay them from now on, starting in March, through a way that all institutions from the state administration and the judiciary, meaning the courts, prosecutors’ offices, etc., will have to sign individual collective agreements in order to obtain this right,” said Deanovski.
The UPOZ head explains that for this to be realized, the text of these collective agreements needs to be prepared together with representatives of the Government and the union. The agreements should then be put to a vote before the union’s organs and bodies.
Deanovski stressed that if the members accept the agreements, they can immediately proceed with their signing.
