Despite the silence and scarce information that the institutions are placing around the case of the seized marijuana in Serbia and the connection of Macedonian companies, unofficially it is becoming clear that this time things are not being swept under the carpet.
On the contrary, a quiet operation was conducted, in a narrow and closed circle for a direct strike against cannabis tycoons in Macedonia.
Unofficially, a police siege is underway on several facilities and locations in Strumica and Strumica region, and at the same time the facility in Skopje in the former Ohis complex has been completely occupied by the authorities since Thursday evening. Allegedly, several institutions are involved – police, customs, health services and the public prosecution service – and they are targeting the network of so-called legal cannabis producers who have been abusing the permitted activity for years.
The Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MoI) notes that the investigation is ongoing and that when everything is complete, they will issue a statement concerning the case.
