Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova has extended greetings on occasion of Muslim holiday Kurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha, Feast of Sacrifice) to the Head of the Islamic Religious Community (IRC), Reis ul-Ulema H. Hfz. Shaqir ef. Fetai and to all citizens of Islamic faith, wishing them good health, joy and kindness.
“Dear Reis-ul-Ulema h. hfz. Shakir ef. Fetai, allow me to personally extend my sincere congratulations to you, the members of the Riyaset, the muftis, the imams and all believers of the Islamic faith, on the occasion of the great holiday of Kurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha), with the wish that you spend it in peace, joy and family well-being.
In a world burdened with uncertainty, distrust, alienation and a weakened sense of common belonging, the great holidays have a strong spiritual dimension and power.
Kurban Bayram, through its deep symbolism of giving and sacrifice, points to values important for the moral maturity of the community: humanity, empathy, solidarity and responsibility towards others. It is precisely in the ability to preserve and express love and care for one’s neighbor, even in moments of differences and challenges, that the integration of society is recognized and measured.
Only through understanding, mutual respect and a culture of respect, diversity can be an advantage, not a weakness, become a bridge, not an obstacle, grow into unity, overcoming divisions,” reads the president’s message.
