Strictest penalties imposed for Metropolit Teodosij Gologanov Street landslide, licenses to be revoked

The strictest legal penalties and sanctions in accordance with the Law on Communal Activities have been imposed after the occurrence of a landslide on the Metropolit Teodosij Gologanov Boulevard, near the Catholic Church in Skopje. The inspection services of the Municipality of Centar, after the inspection, found serious damage to the public infrastructure and a number of irregularities in the construction of the building, the Municipality of Centar said in a press release Wednesday.

Parallel to the inspection, the teams of the Municipality of Centar immediately took emergency measures to secure the location by installing safety belts and warning tapes, in order to protect citizens and enable safe movement, especially since the construction site is located in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings.

The Municipality of Centar informs that an official notification for further action has already been forwarded to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO).

“The construction inspector of the Municipality of Centar will request the revocation of the licenses of the responsible persons involved in the construction, and the Municipality of Centar will also request the determination of responsibility of the supervision and the contractor of the facility due to inappropriate and negligent conduct in line with legal regulations. Appropriate reports and procedures will follow in the case before all competent institutions,” the municipality added.
