Equipment worth EUR 40 million, procured through the European Peace Facility (EPF), was presented in the Skopje-based Ilinden army barracks on Friday.
“This is the first package of equipment that has arrived, we are talking about a package worth around 40 million euros plus an additional two million euros for Balkan medical purposes,” said Macedonian Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski.
The minister expressed his gratitude to EU Ambassador to the country, Michalis Rokas, as well as to his entire team, to the representatives in the country, as well as to the representatives from Brussels.
“We work every day to get as much equipment as possible, I want to emphasize that this is a full grant, direct funds from the European Union. Because of our common European security policy, because of our relationship, because of what we help with in missions, because we have constant communication, all this is a fruit of cooperation and I hope that there will be many more such events where you will see additional equipment, and this equipment behind me is one of the highest quality,” said Defense Minister Misajlovski.
