Commenting on the effects of Tuesday’s  Strategic Dialogue, Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski says that he expects the investment for the rare mineral antimony from the village of Luke near KrivaPalanka, which will be exported to the U.S., to be promoted. The smelter for its processing, as he announced, would be built in Oklahoma.

The project for Chebren and Galishte will also be presented and offered to potential American investors, something that was his personal commitment.

“Macedonia is the first country in Europe to hold a Strategic Dialogue at this level with the current U.S. administration,” said Prime Minister HristijanMickoski, speaking about the expectations from Tuesday’s visit of the Macedonian delegation to Washington D.C., which will take part in the second session of the Strategic Dialogue between Macedonia and the United States.

According to Mickoski, extremely important topics for the future of our country are expected to be presented there.

“The topics that will be covered are digital transformation, artificial intelligence, bilateral cooperation, energy, as well as the infrastructure that we are building and investing heavily in. Special focus is also placed on cooperation in the defense industry. These are several areas in which we expect to achieve great progress,” said the PM.

One of the most significant news from this dialogue, as Mickoski says, is the promotion of a large investment in the mining sector in Macedonia. It is about the exploitation of the rare mineral antimony in the village of Luke near KrivaPalanka.

“At the same time, an investment in a significant production facility will be promoted, and that is antimony ore, which will be exploited near the village of Luke. A rare mineral, which can mean a lot to our economy,” stressed Mickoski.

Field research, as the PM said, is nearing completion and he expects the ore to begin mining soon.

“It will be exported to the United States. I received information from the investors that the smelter would be built in Oklahoma. This creates a complete cycle. This is something that is very important for the Macedonian economy and for us as citizens,” added the PM.

According to Mickoski, the economic benefit from this investment will be enormous because all production will be intended for the American market.
