The ruling VMRO-DPMNE’s refusal to accept SDSM’s proposal to review the budget to provide money for a minimum wage of EUR 600 is yet another confirmation that the Government led by Hristijan Mickoski does not want to raise workers’ wages, the opposition SDSM said in a press release on Saturday.
According to the social democrats, “there were no more excuses and everything was clear as day.”
“The government chose the luxuries of government officials and criminal tenders instead of workers who barely make ends meet. This confirms that SDSM has been a constructive opposition all along, but the VMRO-led government does not accept anything. It did not accept a proposal to increase the minimum wage, did not accept a survey on the tragedy in Kochani, did not accept a resolution against migrants for money, did not accept legal solutions to reduce food prices, did not accept a law to support private companies and increase wages.
VMRO is concerned that SDSM is not a controlled opposition like some other parties. SDSM remains on the side of the workers, on the side of the citizens,” reads the SDSM statement.
