At least 6 out of 10 licensed companies for the production of cannabis for medical purposes, after the controls carried out, are in the process of losing their licenses, Macedonian Health Minister Azir Aliu told Telma TV on Sunday.

“Of the companies processed so far, at least 6 out of 10 are now in the process of revoking their licenses, because they do not meet the licensing requirements stipulated in the law,” Minister Aliu said.

He said that he could not provide more details that led the expert committee of the ministry to conclude that it should initiate a procedure for revoking licenses, because the procedure is still ongoing.

Asked if he could announce the names of those companies, Minister Aliu said that he did not want to do so at this early stage, and that the process would end on Tuesday when the reasons and names of the companies that the Health Ministry’s committee determined did not meet the requirements will be announced.
