VMRO-DPMNE MP Bojan Stojanoski called on the opposition on Friday to reach an agreement on the amendments to the Electoral Code, emphasizing that the ruling majority will support any variant that the opposition parties will agree on, as long as the diaspora vote is retained in the legal solution.
“Monday is already July 13, and the deadline is July 15. We believe that this issue is too serious to be politicized. In the past few days, we have heard different positions and proposals from the opposition parties regarding one electoral unit, the financing of political parties and other issues, but instead of public squabbles, it is time for them to sit down and reach an agreement,” said Stojanoski.
The ruling party representative said that VMRO-DPMNE will provide unconditional support for any solution that will be the result of an agreement between the opposition parties.
“Anything that DUI, SDSM, Levica, as well as the blocs led by Ziadin Sela and Arben Taravari will agree on and translate into a legal text, we plan to accept. If they agree on one electoral district – we are ready to accept. If they agree on the model of financing political parties – we will accept. If they have an agreement on the model of complaints – we will accept that too. We give implicit support to everything they propose, with the only condition that the diaspora vote be included in the legal solution,” MP Stojanoski stressed.
