The Strumica-based Basic Court has rejected Zoran Zaev’s lawsuit as unfounded, which the former prime minister filed against VMRO-DPMNE MP Brane Petrushevski for alleged defamation.
“Zaev announced a lawsuit against me, just the other day I received a decision from the Strumica Basic Court that the lawsuit was filed in the wrong court, that is, the Strumica Basic Court declared itself incompetent for that lawsuit, and here is a very symptomatic thing to mention, either Zoran Zaev along with his relative, because the representative who is his lawyer has the last name Zaev – they know nothing about the law, which I find hard to believe. Or on the other hand, the well-known functioning of Zaev, the connections he has in the judiciary, especially in Strumica where he still considers Strumica to be his personal vassal, he tried to obtain a verdict against me, wanting to clear himself before the public that what I said was not true,” MP Petrushevski told journalist Ljupcho Cvetanovski in an interview Thursday evening.
According to Petrushevski, the judiciary is apparently already immune to Zaev’s influence.
