A dozen vans, five trucks, police and customs vehicles entered the premises of the former OHIS factory Thursday afternoon, where the police operation related to the 5 tons of drugs confiscated in Serbia has been underway since Thursday night.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced that, in coordination with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption (PPO OCC), appropriate measures and activities are being taken at locations in Skopje and Strumica for confiscating narcotics. The Ministry of Interior announces more details after the completion of the activities.
The police seized almost ten tons of marijuana in Skopje, related to the previously seized five tons in Serbia, and stored within the circle of the company involved in the illegal smuggling case.
Simultaneously to this raid, a second operation was being conducted in the Strumica region, where an additional 18 tons of marijuana were confiscated.
The operation was carried out by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) under the guidance of the Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption (PPO OCC). According to police sources, a total amount of marijuana of about 27 tons has been confiscated, and it represents the largest drug confiscation ever in Macedonia.
