VMRO-DPMNE Central Committee member Valentin Manasievski held a press conference Thursday at which he discussed the testimonies of former Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) prosecutor Lejla Kadriu. Former prosecutor Kadriu spoke about the SPO’s connection with the then SDSM-led government.
“The testimonies of prosecutor Lejla Kadriu from the former SPO are proof of how Zoran Zaev opened the judiciary for his gain. The SPO was turned into a party headquarters for SDS. Zoran Zaev and SDS at that time promised some truth and justice for Macedonia, but apart from political persecution, politically fabricated cases and the suffering of former politicians, the citizens got nothing else. Prosecutor Kadriu testifies in an interview that at one point, as many as 4 lawyers representing Zoran Zaev came to the SPO to convince the prosecutors to release people from detention in the “Coup” case. They were persuaded to give a positive opinion so that the case could be taken over by the PPO OCC, so that the case could be processed by the SPO itself. This same case was then brought to the SPO, packed in some boxes and wrapped in protective foil. This case was supposed to be processed by prosecutors Lenche Ristoska and Lile Stefanovska. This case was dragged on for so long and the prosecutors did not go to the hearings, that according to prosecutor Kadriu, if we found this case today, it would still be in some protective foil, neither opened nor reviewed. Additionally, prosecutor Kadriu testifies that at least two other cases, while she was in the SPO, were politically manipulated. One is the case in which the former Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska, and the other is the Neshkovski case, a case in which SDS lied to many citizens, promising some truth, only to find out in the end that there was no institutional responsibility. Zaev and SDS were then ready to do anything just to come to power and they succeeded in their intentions. They lied to their people and promised them stories, which are still confirmed to be false today. The SPO and Katica Janeva were used only for Zoran Zaev and SDS to come to power. After their exploitation, we all know how that story ended. Therefore, we urge the SPO to show that it has freed itself from the clutches of Zoran Zaev and SDS, and to investigate these testimonies of the former SPO prosecutor Lejla Kadriu, so that the truth can finally come to light,” Manasievski underlined.
