The Government adopted a Decree on the manner of calculation of motor vehicle tax and the amounts required for motor vehicle tax calculation on the basis of the criteria set out in the Law on Motor Vehicle Tax.
According to the government press service, this ordinance, as well as the criteria set out in the Motor Vehicle Tax Law, are expected to greatly benefit the whole society by reducing ambient air pollution, by rebuilding the fleet by encouraging the purchase of environmentally friendly vehicles as a result of tax reductions for high fuel economy vehicles, as well as the purchase of hybrid and electric vehicles with low or “0” carbon dioxide – CO2 emissions.
