Specialized police action started in Bulgaria Thursday, which will last until the day of the elections, said Bulgaria’s Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov.

Rashkov said a former Bulgarian interior minister and a former regional governor met in Kyustendil to discuss how to attract 15,000 Macedonians with Bulgarian citizenship to vote in Bulgaria. This is one of the cases for buying votes, on which the Ministry of Interior is working, said the acting Minister of Interior Rashkov at a press conference.

As reported by MIA correspondent in Sofia, Rashkov pointed out that there was other information about “election tourism” in the Blagoevgrad region, as well as control of moneylenders in the Karnobat region, and even fake applications for voting in Germany. According to Bulgaria’s interior minister, the former regional governor has been hospitalized.

According to him, the police have data that in many settlements a concentration of a large number of Bulgarian citizens is planned at the same address in the days before the elections. A meeting and talks were held with the regional governor of Blagoevgrad, where in a village in the district, thousands of citizens who registered there, suddenly appeared at the same address, Rashkov said. Such phenomena are expected to occur in other areas as well.
