President Stevo Pendarovski is paying a visit August 23-24 to Ukraine to attend events marking the 30th anniversary of country’s declaration of independence. According to President’s Office, during his visit, Pendarovski has met with the President of the European Council Charles Michel.
At the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the latest developments in the context of the EU enlargement process, as well as on Macedonia’s progress in key reform areas and the possibilities for holding the first intergovernmental conference.
Pendarovski reaffirmed the view that holding the first intergovernmental conference in the near future is a key priority for Macedonia, emphasizing the need for the European Union to step up efforts to boost relations with the Western Balkans.
Pendarovski also reaffirmed the view that bilateral issues should not be an obstacle to valorizing the progress of any country on the road to the EU and that in that context the solution for our country should be sought.
In addition, they discussed the situation in the EU and in Macedonia, and exchanged views and information on developments in Afghanistan.
