Bulgaria will not withdraw veto on Macedonia, ready to support Albania in starting accession talks

Bulgaria has decided not to change its position, i.e. not to withdraw its veto on the start of EU accession talks with Macedonia, but on the other hand, it is ready to support Albania on its path to the European Union, the Bulgarian transitional government announced on Thursday, reports BGNES.

As stated in the press release, Bulgaria will adhere to the Declaration of the National Assembly of October 10, 2019 on EU enlargement and the Stabilization and Association Process of Macedonia and Albania, as well as the Framework Agreement on the European perspective of Macedonia and Albania. adopted by the Council of Ministers on October 9, 2019 and supported by the Declaration of the National Assembly of October 10, 2019.

According to the announcements, Bulgaria will defend this position at the meeting of the General Affairs Council (CO) to be held on December 14 in Brussels.
