BESA Movement secretary Adnan Azizi has called for an early general elections after the General Affairs Council of the EU failed on Tuesday to agree on start of North Macedonia’s EU accession talks.

He noted that “the government has been delegitimized” and that “parliamentary elections should be held as soon as possible.”

“Date for talks… EU integration… the process… they deafened us with empty phrases, and in fact they are doing everything to defend the government and to procrastinate until the last moment. No date for talks – the government has been delegitimized and early elections to be held as soon as possible, otherwise they can only lead us into the abyss,” Azizi wrote on Facebook.
