Rice farmers went back on strike on Tuesday. Some of the requests are the same, they ask for a higher price of the rice harp, but now instead of 25 they say that it should be bought for 40 denars.
The reason is the rise in prices of fuels, fertilizers and other costs. They want all rice farmers to receive benefits from the government COVID-19 measures, and not only those who handed over the production by the New Year, because they claim that only one fifth of this year’s harvest has been bought.
They also demand a change in the current system of functioning of the Water Economy, because in this PE company they see the biggest guilt for the late sowing of rice.
