The Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of North Macedonia “Lesja Ukrainka” denies that the street “Macedonia” in Varna in the Republic of Bulgaria has been asked to be renamed the street “Ukraine”.

The initiative was to rename only the part of the street where the Russian consulate in Varna is located to “Ukraine” street, and not the whole street. Among other things, we believe that such an initiative for our two friendly countries to share the same street in Varna, can additionally serve as an example and a symbol of good relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and Ukraine.

That also applies only to the part of the street in Skopje.
