Industrial production goes up by 1.1 percent

Industrial production in the period January – August 2022 recorded an increase of 1.1 percent compared to the same period last year, while in August 2022, compared to August 2021, there was a growth of 0.2 percent.

According to the State Statistics Office, viewed by sector, industrial production in the Mining and Quarrying sector in August 2022, compared to August 2021, recorded an increase of 2.4 percent, in the Processing Industry sector an increase of 2.5, while in the sector Supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning decreased by 11.5 percent.

The increase in the Manufacturing Industry sector is the result, above all, of the increased production in: Production of beverages, Production of textiles, Production of clothing, Production of chemicals and chemical products, Production of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, Production of electrical equipment, Production of machines and devices, not mentioned elsewhere and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
