Out of eight victims of human trafficking this year, seven are minors. In general, human trafficking as a crime is increasingly done over the Internet, and the fact that the age limit is decreasing is also worrying, and if ten years ago the victims were from 16 years old of age and up, now the victims are from 10 to 17 years old. Criminals are increasingly targeting the group that uses the Internet the most and is the least informed about the dangers.
As part of the marking of the European Day against Human Trafficking – October 18, the Ministry of the Interior, together with partners from the UN, the Council of Europe and Open Gate, will distribute brochures to raise students’ awareness of the danger of misuse of computer technology in 33 schools in the country.
