Government to freeze prices of tomatoes, onions, peppers, lemons, and bananas starting Wednesday

The Government adopted the decision to freeze the prices of 11 types of fruits and vegetables. The decision, which covers tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, cauliflower, peppers, beans, lentils, bananas, oranges, tangerines and lemons, will be valid starting from April 5 until the end of this month.

As the Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi announced at Monday’s press conference, fresh tomatoes will cost a maximum of MKD 70, cucumbers MKD 75, onions MKD 60, cauliflower MKD 70, peppers MKD 90, beans MKD 75, lentils MKD 110, bananas MKD 70, oranges MKD 55, tangerines MKD 60 and lemons MKD 55.

“I assure the citizens that according to all analyses, the prices, especially of food and energy products, are completely stabilized and have a downward trend,” Bekteshi pointed out.
