The vision for the European Union should be enriched with the countries of the Western Balkans, Ukraine and Moldova, reads the Joint Declaration adopted at the end of the informal meeting of the leaders of the European Union with the representatives of the countries of the Western Balkans, Ukraine and Moldova.
The Joint Declaration underscores the need for a renewed and refocused enlargement process that is tangible and credible, without shortcuts to established conditions, according to a statement published on the Greek government’s website.
Ukraine and Moldova are said to be committed to taking the next steps in their accession process after completing the necessary reforms.
