The defense team working on the “TNT” case on Monday asked the Judicial Council of the Skopje Appellate Court for a rejection verdict due to the absolute statute of limitations of the case. In his presentation at today’s public session in court, lawyer ElenkoMilanov, defense attorney of defendant Mile Janakieski, pointed out that there was an absolute statute of limitations for criminal prosecution.
With the amendments to the Criminal Code, the attorney suggested that the statute of limitations of the criminal prosecution and the adoption of a rejection verdict should be ascertained. Some of the other defense attorneys joined the request, while some of them also requested an acquittal, not only because of the changes to the Criminal Code, but also because of all the other things that were explained in detail in the proceedings.
