The Faculty of Philosophy at the University Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje should act on the conclusions of the State Educational Inspectorate (SEI), which, during its supervision, found irregularities in the enrollment of students in M.Ed. and Ph.D. studies, said Macedonian Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska and added that the Faculty of Philosophy is already acting on the conclusions of the Inspectorate and she is waiting for the report, after which she will make a final decision regarding the case.

“Irregularities have been found at the Faculty of Philosophy, but not in enrollment in undergraduate studies, but in enrollment in second and third cycle studies. The State Educational Inspectorate acted, made conclusions, informed the Faculty, which should act. As far as I know, the faculty is taking action and I am waiting for the final report, so that when the deadline for action passes, as the minister authorized in that area, I can make the final decision,” said Minister Janevska, quizzed by reporters before the opening of the event “Zeleniks – from challenge to innovation”, organized by the Agency for Innovation, Scientific and Technological Development and Entrepreneurship (INOVA).

As reported by MKD.mk, students without completed undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at UKIM were enrolled M.Ed. and then Ph.D. studies, i.e. the requirements of the Law on Higher Education were not met. This was discovered by the State Education Inspectorate and the enrolled students’ studies were terminated.
According to the website’s information, there are about a dozen students enrolled in M.Ed. and Ph.D. studies, whose studies were interrupted after the intervention of inspectors, and they are now demanding a refund of the money they paid for enrollment in the second or third cycle of studies.
