Industrial turnover fell by 9.4% in January on an annual basis. On a monthly basis, the decrease was 13.9%, the State Statistics Office (SSO) said Wednesday.
In the same period, industrial turnover on the domestic market went down by 6%, and on foreign markets by 10.6%.
In January 2026, compared to January last year, the decline in industrial turnover, according to the main industrial groups, was in “intermediate products, except energy” by 13.5%, “capital products” by 9.5%, “durable consumer goods” by 6.4% and “non-durable consumer goods” by 5.4%.
The departments that had the greatest impact on the decrease in total turnover in industry in January 2026, compared to January 2025, were: manufacture of metals by 24.4%, manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 23.3% and manufacture of food products by 5.6%.
