Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Tuesday that the country has plenty of fuel and will not limit sales, despite drivers from neighboring nations crossing the border to take advantage of lower prices. Electricity needs have also been met, but it is still possible to withdraw fuel oil from state reserves.

As Mickoski noted while quizzed by the media after the roundtable at the Constitutional Court, fuel consumption in the country has increased by about 10 percent in total. The oil pipeline is fully operational, which represents additional security, the warehouses are filled in accordance with the law, and state reserves are about sixty days.

The PM also added that according to his information some of the surrounding airports are supplied with kerosene from Macedonia.
From a country that knelt and begged, Macedonia, Mickoski stresses, is becoming a country that generates stability in the region.

“We have absolutely enough fuel quantities for the needs of citizens and business. Consumption has increased in certain border areas, with Albania, Kosovo, Serbia and Greece, the total consumption has increased by about 10 percent. Citizens from our neighbors are filling up with fuel here, because in our country the price is in some cases up to half a euro cent per liter cheaper. Unlike in the past when, as a country, we knelt and begged for help, now we are the ones who generate stability and provide assistance. The oil pipeline is also fully functional, which represents additional security, the warehouses are filled according to the law, the state reserves are about sixty days, so at this moment, there is absolutely no need for such a measure. And not only with diesel fuels and unleaded gasoline with 95 and 98 octanes, I have been informed that some of the surrounding airports are also supplied with kerosene from OKTA, that is, from us. So from a country that used to kneel and beg, we are now becoming a country that generates stability in the region, of course there are and will be challenges. We will solve those challenges too. But what is most important and our priority is that as a country we have the lowest fuel prices for our citizens and the lowest fuel prices for businesses,” PM Mickoski underlined.
