Nearly EUR 20 million have so far been refunded to 119 companies, which paid funds to the Budget in 2023 in line with the Law on Solidarity Tax.

The Ministry of Finance, in line with the established model, began paying the first part of the funds paid to the Budget last week and a total of MKD 1.219 billion have been returned so far.

During 2023, companies paid MKD 3 billion to the Budget in line with the legal decision adopted by the Parliament. After the Law was annulled by the Constitutional Court, the state was obliged to return the funds. As part of a transparent procedure, a model was determined together with the companies for the return of the funds in two parts, which will be realized in March 2026 and March 2027.

The tax refund is carried out based on a request filed by the companies to the Public Revenue Office PRO, and on the basis of an adopted Rulebook amending and supplementing the Rulebook on the form and content of the request form for the refund of overpaid or incorrectly collected tax.
