The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia on Friday called on all workers, unions and NGOs to join the protest that will be held on May 1 – International Labor Day, which will demand a linear increase in wages by 2,806 denars.

The SSM President Darko Dimovski at today’s press conference said that the analysis of the union shows that last month inflation increased by 8.8 percent and that if wages are not increased soon, inflation will “eat” this increase.

That is why our request is to increase salaries by 2,806 denars as soon as possible, because we see that inflation is higher every month and if we do not get this money a day faster, maybe their value next month will be lower, said Dimovski.

Dimovski added that as a union they do not deliver percentages, because the percentage means less for one worker and more for another worker.
