Modern, expanded, completely reconstructed airport in Ohrid soon, says Transport Minister

The reconstruction and expansion of the Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport is in its final phase. In about two months, we will have a completely new modern airport, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, who alongside TAV Macedonia General Manager Nejat Kurt, oversaw reconstruction works at the Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport on Sunday.

Deputy Prime Minister Nikoloski stressed that this modernization of the Ohrid airport is for the first time since its construction and should enable an increase in passenger capacity and the number of new airlines.

“In about two months today, we will have an airport that will look as if it was built yesterday, a completely new solution, an expansion of the terminal building, an expansion of the landing section, an expansion of the take-off section, which will additionally mean a major economic stimulus. If we add to that the Ohrid-Kichevo motorway, the section leading to the airport has already been completed, we will soon have the opening of new sections of this highway, which means a complete revival for the entire region,” Nikoloski noted.
