After completing the investigation, the Kumanovo Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) filed an indictment Friday against the only suspected serial killer, the 25-year-old shepherd from StaroNagorichane, for four murders, according to Article 123, paragraph 2, item 4 of the Criminal Code, as well as two attempted murders. The prosecution also states in the indictment that he committed the murders because he was a necrophiliac.
“According to the expert reports conducted during the investigation, he committed the acts for other low motives, i.e. with the intention of satisfying his sexual passions towards dead female bodies,” reads the press release.
Since he intentionally took the lives of several people, he faces a prison sentence of at least 10 years or life imprisonment, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has said.
Thus, on the night between January 5 and 6, 2025 in the village of Klechovce intentionally killed an elderly and defenseless woman. He broke into her house and while she was asleep on the bed, he physically assaulted her and violently began to suffocate her. The woman died from numerous fractures and injuries that prevented her from breathing.
In an unspecified time period between June 5 and 7, 2025 in the village of Dragomance, he similarly intentionally killed another woman.
The third incident was recorded on July 22, 2025 in the village of Chelopek, where he tried to kill a woman who managed to intimidate him by shouting for her son, so the defendant fled.
In the evening hours between January 17 and 18 of this year in the village of StaroNagorichane, the defendant intentionally murdered a woman who was younger in age compared to his other victims, but whom he also knew was alone. The manner of committing the crime was similar to that of the previous victims.
In the village of Chelopek, in the evening hours between 5 and 6 February, the defendant killed another elderly and defenseless victim.
The last recorded incident was on 9 February in the village of Čelopek, where he intentionally tried to kill another woman, but was frightened by a sound he heard and fled before carrying out his intention.
The public prosecutor also forwarded a proposal to the judge of the preliminary procedure of the KumanovoBasic Court for the extension of the previously determined detention measure for the defendant.
