The Public Revenue Office (PRO) assumed the one-year presidency of the Inter-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) at a ceremonial ceremony held within the framework of the organization’s 30th Annual Assembly in Budapest.
In her address after assuming the presidency, the Public Revenue Office director Elena Petrova notes that tax administrations today are faced with rapid technological changes, new economic models and growing expectations from citizens and businesses. She emphasized that the role of IOTA is to help tax administrations successfully turn these challenges into opportunities through practical cooperation, exchange of experiences and joint capacity building.
“IOTA should not only be a place where tax administrations discuss changes, but a place where they together turn challenges into concrete solutions,” Petrova pointed out.
IOTA is an organization with 43 European countries and two associate members, and is affiliated with several international and global organizations working on tax issues. Taking over the presidency of IOTA represents a significant international recognition for the Public Revenue Office, recognizing it as an active and credible partner in the European tax community.
