Economic results are best measured through specific figures, and the figures clearly show that with the VMRO-DPMNE-led Government, wages and pensions are growing significantly faster, which directly contributes to improving the standard of living and greater economic security for citizens, the ruling VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release Saturday.
“If we make a direct comparison with the period of rule of SDS and DUI, the difference is evident. When SDS came to power, in June 2017, the average wage was around MKD 22,800, and by the time it was in power, in May 2024, it reached MKD 41,250, which means that over a period of seven years, the average wage increased by more than MKD 18,400, or with an average monthly growth of around MKD 220,” said VMRO-DPMNE.
In this comparison, from July 2024, when the VMRO-DPMNE-led Government took office, the average wage was MKD 40,900, while in May 2026 it reached over MKD 49,500, which represents an increase of MKD 8,600 in just 23 months, i.e. an average monthly growth of over MKD 370 or around 70 percent.
This shows that during the period of the current Government, despite the criticism of the opposition SDSM, wages are growing at a significantly higher pace.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, the difference is even clearer in pensions, where the policies of the current Government bring a concrete increase in the monthly income of pensioners and greater security for this category of citizens. In June 2017, the average old-age pension was less than MKD 15,300, and in May 2024 it reached over MKD 22,900, which means that in seven years it increased by almost MKD 7,700, or MKD 90.
On the other hand, the indicators presented by VMRO-DPMNE indicate that in July 2024 the average old-age pension was about MKD 22,850, and in May 2026 it reached over MKD 29,700, which represents an increase of more than MKD 6,800 in just 23 months, or about MKD 300 per month or 325 percent.
